Transport & Infrastructure
Smart, Fair, Connected Travel
The United Vision Party is committed to building a transport system that connects every part of the United Kingdom—reliably, affordably, and sustainably. Transport is not only about mobility; it is about regional opportunity, economic growth, and quality of life.
Mobility for a Fairer Britain
Our vision is a nation where modern, efficient public and private transport systems allow citizens to move freely and affordably, and where neglected communities receive the infrastructure investment they have long been denied.
Rail & Rural Access for All
We will invest heavily in regional rail networks—starting with Northern Powerhouse Rail—to connect cities and towns, unlock economic zones, and end the North-South divide in transport funding. Rural transport will receive increased funding to ensure smaller communities are not left behind.
Making Travel Affordable
National fare caps will be introduced across trains, buses, and trams, ensuring affordability for all, particularly pensioners, students, and low-income households. A unified national travel card system will be rolled out to simplify access and reduce costs for commuters.
Urban Travel Without Penalties
Urban congestion will be tackled with a suite of intelligent measures: expanding park-and-ride schemes, investing in smart traffic flow systems, and constructing protected cycle lanes and pedestrian zones. We oppose blanket Clean Air Zone charges that penalise working people without offering viable alternatives. Instead, we will pursue flexible, technology-led solutions that balance clean air with fair mobility.
Powering Sustainable Transport
To accelerate the green transport transition, we will expand grants for electric vehicles and home chargers, build a nationwide EV charging network, and subsidise electric buses and zero-emission public fleets. Bike-share schemes, e-scooter infrastructure, and green taxi incentives will form part of a new urban transport strategy.
Fixing Roads for Good
Roads will not be neglected. We will launch a national pothole repair campaign and enforce higher maintenance standards for roads and bridges. Councils will receive direct funding for local repairs, and inspection cycles will be standardized.
Improving Road Safety & Tech
Dangerous driving will carry tougher penalties, and motorway policies will be reviewed—raising speed limits where safe and replacing ineffective average speed cameras with smarter systems.
Flying Smart, Flying Clean
On aviation, we will reject unnecessary expansion of major airports but invest in regional connectivity. We support cleaner aviation technology, not consumer-punishing levies, and will expand domestic routes to support trade and tourism.
Bringing Rail Back to Britain
We believe that Britain’s railways must be renationalized and run as a single, publicly owned network. A new National Transport Authority will manage service delivery, investment, and long-term strategy to ensure passengers and national interests are prioritized over private profit.
